This morning we took a trip to the Imperial War Museum North with friends. It’s a great museum with lots of interesting exhibits and a really moving picture show on Children and War that is played at 1pm on the walls of the main exhibition room. Among the vehicles (tanks, motorbikes, a very cool vehicle designed for mine fields, a plane) was a bombed out car from Baghdad in 2007. It sits next to shards from the World Trade Centre and reminds us of the impact of war in today’s society. It was quite hard to get a decent photo, but the colours and shadows are quite powerful none the less.
