2014, Day 8: Bukchon Hanok Village, Seoul

Bukchon is a lovely part of Seoul. Full of traditional style houses (Hanok), winding, hilly streets and nice shops.  Not all of the Hanok are old – quite a few are so new they were being built last time we were here in 2012 – and I like that continuation of a tradition that the area provides. It’s where we go when we feel in the need for something familiar and also some places that will suck all the money out our wallets!  Favourite places for the latter are Yido Pottery, a silver jewellery place (where we got my silver birds), the name of which escapes me, and a new discovery of today, Lya Nature.  It’s another of my ‘must sees’ when in Seoul!

Taken on my Olympus Pen. Setting: Aperture Priority. Aperture: f5.6; Shutter: 1/640; ISO: 200.  Desaturated in iPhoto on my iPad.
